Will the real Mr. Obama please stand up!
His meeting with Joe the Plumber discloses his goal to "spread the wealth". His TV ads imply that those who don't want to pay more taxes are "selfish".
Share the wealth sounds great at first, but does Obama really mean what he says.
His aunt, an illegal alien, has lived for several years with Obama's knowledge in a Boston slum on welfare.
His stump speeches espouse unity, oneness, bipartisanship and peace among all, even those with whom we disagree.
Yet he has banished from his plane reporters from newspapers who don't support him. Never have I heard of a politician doing this. Certainly not an example of peace; it's more like pettiness and revenge. Just what we need more of in Washington .
His stump speeches regret that the surge has failed and talk about how poorly we have done in Iraq and promise to bring the troops home in 18, err 12, err, 24, err 6 months, err "maybe if things keep going well in Iraq we don't need to be in any hurry at all".
Just what Americans love in their leaders----uncompromising ambiguity.
In fact, Obama has obscured his Iraq stand so well that I have friends on both sides praising his policy, one side saying he will get us out immediately and the other saying he will take his time and do it right.
His class-warfare rhetoric promises blue collar workers that he will punish big corporations by raising their taxes. Sounds good to those who apply little or no thought to this policy.
What Obama won't tell the common man is that no corporation ever pays taxes. Consumers (blue collar workers) pay the corporate tax increases through price hikes.
Government raises taxes on Ford Motors. Ford raises prices. Consumers pay more. Ford makes same profit. Government takes tax and spends it. Consumers have less to spend. Taxes go up more. Car prices increase again. Consumer balks. Ford sales and profits falter. Ford lays off blue collar workers. Government takes in less revenue. Economy stumbles.
That's Obama's spread the wealth plan----punish the corporations who provide the jobs. A slick tongue makes it sound good to blue collar workers, but it simply doesn't work. Never has, never will.
The more we see of Obama, the less voters like his uncertain policies. The more we see, the less we know.
He promises way more than we can pay for, even his own economists say that.
The only policy he clearly states is his stand on abortion. On that issue he is quite clear.
